What is Spyware?

Spyware is hidden software that has been installed on your computer and compiles information about your computer, yourself and your usage (such as the websites you visit). This data that has been secretly collected is then sent back to its author.
Spyware is capable of stealing your sensitive information such as credit or debit card details when your shop online by logging your keystrokes and taking screenshots of websites you are browsing.
Most people would be stunned to know how vulnerable their privacy is to spyware. For example some spyware can record your credit or debit card details when you shop on the internet.
Privacy is not the only vulnerability, spy can also take the form of irritating website pop-ups appearing on your monitor or they can seize the links found on website replacing them with different and in some cases malware infected websites.
To make matters worse, often when users suspect that their PC has been infected by spyware they are duped into purchasing fake software to remove the infections or downloading free removal programs that actually contain spyware themselves.
